Status quo

All that time he’d waited
what with the roadworks one way 
and the building site the other
he might as well have walked.

Didn’t seem to stop the London buses
slithing past though. 
Just the ones that get ordinary folks
somewhere useful.

Still, at least the homeless shelter’s
closed and there’s not
those losers dealing and fighting
in the alley any more.
