18 years...
Since I last saw my friend Jayne! We should be ashamed. And tonight on the pier, on the most beautiful still October evening, we caught up over fish and chips! That is, we did as much catching up you can do in 2 hours. It was really lovely to hear how well her girls are doing, now they are all grown up. We chatted about everyone we could remember from CCC pensions. Jayne's memory is a lot better than mine! It was lovely to meet her husband Ashley at last too. Henry took this photo of us, as we were about to go our separate ways. Jayne and Ashley are staying in a cottage locally for the weekend with their 3 dogs. We promised not to leave it so long until we meet again, but at least social media has brought us back in touch.
So going back a bit, we had breakfast in Sheringham, just Jon and I. We decided the weather called for a relaxed day. Back home we had coffee in the garden, and then I did a bit of gardening, helped by Henry who cut the grass. Did I mention last week that he got the petrol mower working? Anyway, it was heavy and challenging to control, but he went over the lawn first with it, and then with the electric mower. It is looking much tidier now.
Tomorrow we are at Gressenhall Museum for the apple day to promote www.backyardbushcraft.co.uk and hopefully enjoy a day in the open air. If the weather stays nice, there should be lots of visitors.
We have just watched a film I bought on DVD called 'Our Finest'. It was my kind of film. Now we had better get to bed as we have an early start tomorrow.
