MOPS
On our walk from the hotel to the river Weser (our last night in Bremen) I found outside the building of Radio Bremen this couche with the dog sitting upon it. There was an explanation of it at the door, and it told us that this statue was a big thank you and memembrance of Vicco von Bülow (1923-2011) From 1976 till 19678 under the name of Loriot he had made sketches for the TV, presented on the green sofa in the foyer.
And Mops was Loriot's dearest dog. His motto had been: A life without Mops is possible, but without sense. The statue was made by Herbert Rauer, from Osnabrück.
When Mischa was a child we had bought a book for her written by Loriot with lovely absurd conversations with a dog.
We had walked this morning along the river, visited the Kunsthalle, where we saw this big exposition of Max Beckmann's paintings.
But also the permanent collection. Especially the paintings of Paula Modersohn-Becker, as she had been the reason for our visit of Worpswede the day before.
Then we walked to the station and via Hannover and Göttingen we arrived at home. We have had a interesting and varied trip, meeting with friends, enjoying Hamburg anNowd Bremen, wandering through the vast village of Worpswede.
Now we are happy and tired, and this evening I will start viewing and commenting again, after my absence.
I have an extra silly image of a huge orange at the market in Bremen, where one of course could buy orange juice.
