Fyrish Monument

This is a monument or folly on a hill near where I live. It was built in 1782 and represents the Gate of Negapatan in India. I thinks it look rather strange in this setting but often follies do!! Then again it was built through the generosity of the local lord who wanted to keep the community in work.
It's a lovely walk and has spectacular views.
