Tree felling at the Scott Monument

For our Tuesday trip we went to the National Gallery of Scotland. There are two special exhibitions at present, Van Gogh to Kandinsky - Symbolist Landscape and Giovanni Battista Lusieri - The Panoramic Landscape.

I found the Lusieri exhibition especially interesting because there is so much to compare from just one artist. There is a delightful amount of detail in his large scale watercolours, and his work invites comparison with photography in the way he makes panoramas.

There are contributions from many artists see and enjoy in between Van Gogh and Kandinsky, even if neither of the headline names are a special favourite of mine.

My blip was taken on the way to the gallery, and shows a tree being felled next to the Scott Monument in Princes Street Gardens.
