Crocus speciosus

The first of many and its good to start with one that everyone can grow. Crocus speciosus, cheaply available at garden centres, hardy and reliable.

This one is subspecies ilgazensis, a rarity from Ilgaz Dag in Turkey but in truth, hard to tell apart from the common ones.
