Ambiguity

A splendid new bypass around Aberdeen is nearing  completion. The current roadworks have necessitated the closure of a number of roads around our village and this sign appeared on our main street a couple of weeks ago. It suggests that the road ahead is closed and that one should therefore turn right at this junction. In reality the road ahead is open and the road to the right is closed! The problem has, of course, been reported, many times, but to no effect whatsoever.
