I wanna tell you a story.

Inspite of the fact that my hotel room overlooks Wembley Stadium railway station in the foreground - there's the answer to my Monday question - and the flight-path for Heathrow in the distance, I woke just before dawn this morning and heard a couple of foxes calling to each other. I know that they live in large numbers in city areas, but it seemed quite incongruous that I should hear them, when all around is just concrete and tar and bricks.

Another thing I learned today was that if you purchase a pre-packed sandwich in London, there is a good chance it was made in Park Royal. One of the biggest areas for processing snack type foods in Europe apparently.

But that's all just by the by.

I finished work - leaving my trainees to rehearse for their exams tomorrow - in good time to get quite a bit of work done. Work that's been piling up for some while now. I even made a start on an assignment I should have completed some weeks ago and promised myself - and a colleague - that I would finish it today.

Then I received a couple of e-mails which quite frankly, annoyed me so, looking for an excuse for a distraction I logged on to the 'Time Out' web site for places to eat, cheaply, in London.

I somehow found myself on the next train to Marylebone in search of chosen restaurant. Caught my first blip on the way and immediately thought of various family members - Happyframe, Itchyfeet and Shadowlight to name but three - who will be watching the Great British Bake-off this evening. See, you're always on my mind! I could have been a songwriter!

The photo below was another sign which made me smile. Must get a new track suite for the lounge at home.

As soon as I arrived at the restaurant I realised that we had visited this place some years ago, this time with Bananablip. Good to re-visit it and taste the recommended beer once again. Not so much fun on your own though. Although I did pick up a book from their shelf which looked to be a good read. Will let you know when I've found a copy. Sorry about the quality of the photo but it was dark, wet, windy and busy at the time.

And finally. Found out that the 'White Horse' bridge over the railway line at Wembley Stadium was so called after Billy the horse, who played a heroic part in quelling the enormous crowd at the 1923 cup final when it is estimated that the crowd numbers were around 300,000. The official capacity of the ground was 125,000.

Have I finished the assignment?

There's always tomorrow. Sorry Gemma!

After an exhausting day it's off to bed with a cup of coffee and a good book - Enigma by Robert Harris. Picked up from a charity shop and very enjoyable.

Good night.
