In search of colour

I have been expecting to see fabulous autumn colours, but so far they seem to elude me. Today I knew the walled garden at Crathes Castle would not let me down.

There is a window in the castle which gives a very fine view of the walled garden. When the castle is open the window is usually left open so photographs can be taken from this viewpoint. Today we did not visit the castle itself, but I attempted to capture the colours from the upper terrace of the garden.
