Wolf Wall
Well it is #Arachtober :) I've photographed only spiders today so had to blip one. I found this spotted wolf spider on the south-facing wall of number thirteen disused glasshouse. They're fairly small and look black until one gets in close. They catch their prey by running at them, just like wolves do.
Wolves are in the news today. Shepherds have driven their sheep through the town of Lyon in France to protest about the threat wolves, which returned in the early 1990s, pose to their pastoral way of life. They say their sheep have become a "pantry for the wolf." Also wolves have been discovered living just outside Rome for the first time in a century.
Today's poem is From Letter of Testimony Coda by Octavio Paz. http://wonderingminstrels.blogspot.co.uk/2000/05/coda-octavio-paz.html
I like this about love as I love trees.
