Recent Purchases (Monday 9th October 2017)

Covering the polycarbonate roof in the conservatory with soundboarding has totally changed the room's purpose. I have moved the living room table out there and a spare computer (the PC tower is under the table). I had been using an ancient temperamental Sony radio for the PC's speakers but it recently died, so I have bought this new Roth soundbar and plumbed it in. It also acts as the speakers for the rather tinny DAB radio you see on the windowsill and for the CD Walkman (remember them?) below it. A built in Bluetooth receiver also means I can use it with my iPad and iPhone, particularly for the BBC Radio iPlayer.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Kinks - People Take Pictures Of Each Other (European Stereo Mix) (recorded July 1968, Pye Studio 2, London)
On this day I reached CD4 of the Kinks Anthology box set. This is the final track from The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society, an album so named because it had been observed to Ray Davies that in his songs he was preserving a way of life that was disappearing. This stereo mix only appeared on European versions of the original vinyl album until this anthology and has slightly different parts compared to the mono version.
I thought blippers might enjoy the wry lyric.
