Over the Mountain

I heard so much about the perils and drama of driving 'over the mountain' from Belfast to Derry that I was slightly underwhelmed by the reality. In fact on the way there I kept waiting for the mountain to appear only to realise I had already crossed it without realising! Would definitely have been more scenic the other way but unfortunately virtually dark so I couldn't see the vista.
Think Scottish routes like the Pass of Gkencoe and the Bealach na Ba have given me a different view of what driving over a mountain means!!
