Crapper, part 2
After coffee and breakfast we spent a little while admiring A & M's garden and then got a train into Brussel with Marc - he got off at the Br Nord to travel onwards to his work and we proceeded to Br Midi in order to get the Eurostar. As we were getting on the train I noticed someone carrying a guitar-case of a most distinctive type, just like mine in fact. I accosted him and asked if it was a Calton case. Of course it was, and it turned out that we knew each other by name though had never met. We weren't sitting close enough to chat on the train but were able to rendezvous at St Pancras. First mutual friend he enquired about was Ogatodomar, so I was able to show him the photo in my camera!
Then what seemed like a slow train back to Edinburgh - not only did it have scheduled stops at unusual places like Newark, but it sat in Darlington station for about 20 mins - turned out a passenger had "caused a disturbance" and had to be removed by the polis. When we got back we strolled over to the Carriers for a pint, just in time to find Pat celebrating Ireland beating Wales in the fitba'.
Fortunately D and I had a half-hour to spare between trains at K's X and I was able to return to the old Parcel Office pub and get a photo of the wash basin to complete the set - see the extra here.
