Flying the flag

Whenever there is one of yon flag-flying days here in Finland (and they come around remarkably often according to this calendar - plus the flags also fly for state visits such as the visit of the Italian President a few weeks ago...), there is a flag flying right outside my office window. It's not a Finnish flag, but the University flag, which bears a strong resemblance bar the crest in the centre.

This photograph was taken during one of the few dry(ish) interludes in the day. It wasn't too bad this morning, so I managed to walk in (and do some shopping for some additional training gear) without getting wet. It's teeming down this evening. I can only hope it does finally stop at some point...
