Kroeg

After a very good nights sleep and a fairly slow start, we made our way over to Leuven. We were there a little earlier than needed, so we visited an old haunt; De Kroeg. We used to frequent it a lot about 20 years ago - it's changed hands since and doesn't open till late, so we couldn't go in, but D was happy to pose in front of it. There being approx 50 other cafes in the Oude Markt that were open, we found somewhere to have a pintje to while away the time.

Then we met up with P & C who had invited us over to their parents silver wedding weekend celebration, but without telling the parents - we were intended as a (lovely!) surprise for them. It was funny sitting in their house waiting for them and seeing their faces when they came in the door. Then we had a delicious meal, cooked mainly by Pieter - and yes, the main ingredient was indeed chicken!
