Visited Al Lingis today, according to the web he's 'an American philosopher, writer and translator, currently Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at Pennsylvania State University. His areas of specialization include phenomenology, existentialism, modern philosophy and ethics.' But more importantly he's a fascinating guy who's been to more places around the world than I can even dream of visiting! He also has a great bird collection in his aviaries and, since they moult, one of his rooms has been feather-walled. Amazing.
