Platypus preening

I watched this little Platypus preening and playing, for several minutes, in the Broken River at Eungella, near the Eungella National Park - inland from Mackay. Platypus are the strangest and weirdest creatures you can imagine!
The Darter pic in Extras was taken out ar the Eungella Dam yesterday. He was calling to his mate - what a racket.
We're now steadily making our way back to Canberra.
