The First Snow
Piper is such a funny girl. She didn't want to be outside while it was snowing this morning because it was wet and sloppy and I'm sure it felt like rain, which she hates. Once it stopped, though, she was happy to get outside so she could lie down in it. As you can see here, the sun was already trying to break out (around noon) after our little storm. Our official measurement was 2.7 inches. The first extra was taken much earlier when it was snowing hard and this poor wet squirrel was trying to find shelter in our Maple tree. The second was a bit later when the snow started to let up and this pretty Flicker posed nicely for me. So now it's about 5 pm and the sun is shining in an almost cloudless sky and all the snow is gone.
There is a pink flower on my deck as a reminder that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A click on this link will take you to the BreastCancerSite and a click on the pink bar will help to fund research and mammograms for those who can't afford them. It's free and only takes a minute!
