Still life...

...at the quayside in North Shields...
The fishing fleet is sorely reduced, but this memorial to fishermen who have lost their lives at sea has recently been unveiled, complete with flat cap and tab end...
I particularly liked the dedication :
"Until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore, 
You will not know the terror of being forever lost at sea."

The life does continue - there were several small trawlers in the harbour, landing their catches of crabs, codling, prawns and lobsters - see extra.

I know it isn't the sort of "still life" JDO envisaged for MonoMonday today, but I found it irresistible ;)
