Balletic

Off to basketball with CarbBoy, and here he managed to save an over-long pass, just.  Despite balletic manoeuvres such as this, they lost pretty heavily.  I learned more about the politics of junior basketball yesterday and, it seems, our esteemed club leader submitted this team for the Top 16 league which, given that 7 out of 10 are new to basketball, was a touch optimistic.  He does it, apparently, to show what a great club they are - that they have x number of teams that apply for Top 16 in their category, but it just seems to result in early season disillusionment for the players when they are sorted into a more appropriate league for their actual level.  I'm sure next time me and the Esteemed Leader are in the same room as beer, I will say something ungrammatical and over-brusque about it.

Still, he didn't seem too upset.  Though he gives his all on the pitch, he's not one for great shows of competitiveness otherwise.  


Later, home for some garden lounging (sleeping in Mr B's case) in the sunshine, then duck and chips and too much telly.  Predictably, TallGirl loves W1A, and CarbBoy doesn't believe that kind of thing really happens.
