The Wolf Of Gubbio

This isn't what I went to photograph today when I headed to this pretty peaceful spot. Just one of those lucky gifts that a day sometimes offers up. Now I wish I'd paid more attention to the small sign that told who sculpted it. That it was done by one of sculptor John Nugent's students is all I can remember. It's located on a hill above St. Michael's Retreat, a property owned by the Franciscan Friars of Western Canada. I suppose that explains why a sculpture representing one of the St. Francis of Assisi legends stands in the Qu"Appelle Valley in Saskatchewan.
