Face off?

Last day on Gozo so went to see something that no longer exists.

One of the main natural tourist attractions, close to where we are staying, was the Azure Window an impressive natural arch into the sea at Dwerja. Unfortuanelty it collapsed earlier this year in a storm. Not just the arch top but the stacks as well.

It has not stopped the hundreds and hundreds of tourists coming to the spot. Admittedly there is still the Blue Hole and Fungus Rock as well as the dramatic coastline to see.

Nevertheless the stream of visitors was constant walking out to look at what had gone . Apparently under the water it now marks a good spot for diving!

The remnant of the arch on the cliff looks, from some angles like a face, but looking very closely it seems as if event that will fall away soon.
