Breakfast

I opened the curtains this morning to find this blackbird  eating the berries on the Bay Laurel.
He wasn't bothered by me opening the curtains and carried on moving like lightning until all the berries had gone.

I did some preparation work on the 'bowl blank' which split on me a while ago (if you look carefully you can see the biggest split going from the bottom up towards the middle). I have glued up some of the splits - mainly on the bottom  since that is more or less shaped (not that it is clear in the picture).
I haven't filled that major crack from the top as there will be a fair bit of timber getting removed and there is no point in filling bits that will be removed.
I have made sure that it isn't all going to explode when I turn the lathe on so with a gentle touch and a lot of luck I may get away with it.

The reason for the smaller faceplate is because the whole thing has shrunk by about 3mm (surprisingly) ...completely  symetrically (even more surprisingly) since I cut the oriface for the larger faceplate and the wood split.

Bored yet?
I shall move on.

I vacuumed the car interior.
That was fun! .........or not!
The 'carpet' is actually sheets of Velcro and refuses to give up dirt and hair etc. without a fight .... and Boy! did it fight!

Then it was out to do some shopping and then back to wash the car (long overdue) which really did my back in, so the glass and interior trim will need to wait.

An enjoyable Grand Prix this afternooon.
