fungus appears and disappears

last spring we had a huge holly tree and a leylandia chopped down and the brash was chipped. All sorts of interesting fungus grows in this new habitat. Our hens get more light and so do we. However the garden is gradually getting smaller and the many trees around us are getting larger and closer and one day we may just vanish into a forest.
