Foot EB

We always knew the drive home would be a challenge, the foot still needs to be elevated, and it's a ten hour drive in good conditions, so we are breaking the journey at Tewkesbury tonight.

We stopped at Wheal Peevor Mine this morning for a pooch walk, it was fog thick mizzle, I was glad I had to stay in the van and read, but no blip.

Near to Exeter the weather cleared and we followed a National Trust sign to Castle Drogo. The worst trust property I've ever been to; appalling access, rude staff, poor food and the building covered in scaffolding. I was going to have a rant, but the world doesn't need any more negative. So no blip.

By Tewkesbury the rain was back and all of Team IttH were shattered. No blip.

So for the purposes of recording my progress you get treated to my technicolour foot. It's kinda fascinating - those two tiny cuts (I'd say they were each less than 8mm) accommodated a camera, a hose, a vacuum and various drills - all expertly wielded. So far I've also counted at least 8 injection sites, some of which would be saline to inflate the joint. The tourniquet was higher up at the start of my calf, that too left an impressive bruise. Part of me thinks it would be fascinating to watch, the more rationale part of me thinks I'd probably faint.
Mr P says the flesh will take six weeks to heal, the bones and ligaments closer to twelve, but I find it all a bit astounding.
