Dodgy Cloaking Device

I think it was the Romulans that first developed the "cloaking device" ...(stealth technology that can make an object virtually invisible) ... The Klingons, however, soon obtained this scientific breakthrough and managed to use it to their advantage in their battles against the Federation ... :o)
Unfortunately, when the device was fitted to the Enterprise, it never seemed to work properly ... All that actually happened, was that the Enterprise ended up looking like a bloody cloud ... :o/
Mind you, that said, it still seemed to do a job of sorts, because I think I was the only person to have spotted it floating in the air off the east coast of Guernsey just after sunrise ... (Stardate: 1017.6) ... :o)
