Moonrise

I spent ages trying to shoot the moonrise this evening.

After waiting patiently on the beach, she eventually lifted herself gently out of the sea, a vibrant ball, rising rapidly into the night, turning the sky to an orange glow.

But all my efforts seemed useless, so I had to settle for this very long exposure, where the moon is burned out and it looks more like a sunrise than the long awaited harvest moon.

Oh, well. No-one ever said shooting the moon was easy.
