Petra Day Two
We left early again today and had The Siq almost to ourselves, and only 3 or 4 people at The Treasury. On our return around noon, the place was crammed, and any sense of atmosphere completely lost. We also had the trail to ourselves up to the High Place of Sacrifice and then down the other side into the valley and round to Qasr al-Bint, where we admired the amazing workmanship of the Temple and enormous Agora. Then up a busy path to admire the Royal Tombs. A lot of walking in the heat and we feel pretty tired. Tomorrow, A jeep drive in Wadi Rum.
Today's photo is from the trail near the high place of sacrifice , but it's so difficult to choose a photo from the 250 (!) I took today, I have put in some extras. A horse and cart entering the Siq in the early morning, the wonderful swirly sandstone patterns and colours, and the Royal Tomb.
