Thursday: Mono Lake

Being in a place for more than a night or two has meant that we can enjoy a slightly more leisurely pace to the day. For us, that meant being out and about around 1000.

Our accommodation has an advice centre where you can see what is best suited to what you want to do in Yosemite. Apparently, if you go to the Valley, you can see everything by being shuttled around in busses. So we didn't go there - instead, we drove two hours (although it didn't really feel like it) along the high ground, through various passes, to alpine meadows, and coming out at Mono Lake - an amazing geographic formation with pumice stalagmites emerging from the lake (they're called 'tufas').

Each and every view was phenomenal. So more driving than walking today, but equally wonderful.

It was difficult to decide today, so there's an extra.
