Birthday Surprises!

I had such a lovely day today... A nice (albeit very early!) breakfast with bucks fizz and presents, then beautiful Laura arrived on the doorstep with a birthday muffin (complete with candle) later in the morning. A present awaited me on the car seat, then she whisked me off for a very relaxing back and shoulder massage while she had her nails done. Off into town after that for lunch in an amazing little cafe/restaurant - you can kind of see it in the photos - there's crazy eclectic decorations on the walls, the chairs don't match and have spray paint on them (some seats are actually heavyweight cardboard boxes), and lots of odd lampshades hanging from the ceiling... you could sit there for ages just looking around you. Pictured is what I had, and it was about 5 inches thick... I wasn't quite sure how to tackle it! Very tasty though.

On to the dentist after that... it wasn't as bad as I expected, considering how terrified I had been of going, and how long it's been.

And home later for a lovely dinner with the family!
