Swan

I had nothing special today - a swan is a swan, a duck is a duck, a bee is a bee. But if the subjects were run of the mill, the late afternoon sun in a clear sky did make for some special light to show them off in the way nature intended.

The duck pond in Woking park is next to the skateboard park and there was a young lad, maybe 11 or 12, on a scooter, getting airborne. He had long blond hair and an orange tee-shirt that glowed in the sun. There was a great shot to be had of his tresses and shirt in the sun but I'm just too wary to take pictures of kids playing, the way society has gone. Had Gill been with me I would have done, but when there are no parents around, you're a man alone with a camera and sadly, in some people's eyes today, the only men who hang around in parks to take pics of kids are perverts. It makes me so angry that everyone is judged this way. So I played safe and snapped a swan, a duck and a bee.
