My Aim is True

By MAiT

Well today I haemorrhaged a huge amount of money (can it really still be 2 weeks until pay day!?) and I met the most boring man in all of christendom and blimey, I think I'll have to deal with him over the next few weeks.

The other day I was leafing through the atlas and this insert caught my eye. Not only is it an atlas to keep for a lifetime, it's actually informed 3 generations of our family (it would be 4, if they'd not all been born overseas). I love it and can spend hours looking at it.

The geographer is Major General H A Young, C.B, C.B.E, D.S.O, CD, B.Sc.E.E, President.. His quote finishes with the sentence; It contains much information that is frequently difficult to obtain from other sources, particularly in this present age of space travel. Hmm?

The Astronomer.

The archaeologist is Sir Mortimer Wheeler. he has no initials after his name, but is tagged as "the famous archaeologist". He looks a dashing cad, doesn't he?

The Cabinet Minister. (then, Minister of Northern Affairs and Natural Resources.)

The Eminent Scholar.

The Mountaineer. Whose quote included the following request "I would wish that a name could be found for this tremendous symposium of knowledge....". Erm...what about Atlas?

Jings that entry took me ages, got chucked out blipfoto, all the links and italics jumbled up, had lots of spelling mistakes.....
