Bye bye, au revoir

Today I left work.

8 years at the company and after not much deliberation I decided to go for the redundancy that was on offer.

It'll be the first time in my whole career that I don't have another job to go for, but I look forward to the future, the new challenges and to finding new opportunities where my values are aligned with that of the company and my fellow colleagues.

Took this standing on the table. Some people where missing. Some had already been fired due to the cuts, others were otherwise engaged. Either way, I miss them all. My work colleagues were like family. You didn't always like them - you didn't get to choose them, but in the end, you loved them all the same!
