Birthday treat

I had an 8am german lesson this morning, and came back to find this on my desk. A very lovely gift from my boss, who knows that I'm working with some difficult personalities at present.. my first birthday in Switzerland, as last year was on audit in Poland. It would seem birthdays are taken very seriously here. Lots of handshaking, bemusement as to why I was in the office, and much confusion that I had baked cakes...the primrose bakery lemon drizzle was a great success ( excellent, as self raising flour doesn't exit, and found several variations on how much baking powder to add) Carrot cake was met with a little more trepidation... I can't imagine how a chocolate beetroot cake would fare!

I have promised to attempt a gin cheesecake for the British contingent.
