View from Glencoe Mountain
Had a very lovely drive today the length of the deep fault line valley from Inverness to Oban... 3 lochs ( Ness, Oich, and Lichty). all connected by the Caledonian canal ( with locks, not to be confused with lochs!). Raining . So most of the pictures out the bus window have raindrops ( extra) Learned about the battle between clans at Glencoe. Stopped at Glencoe mountain for 2/3 of us to take the ski lift up in lashing freezing rain. ( worst trip this year, says Robert our guide. I think he was hoping we'd want to skip it. No way) It cleared for the trip down so that is the blip... one could actually see the other side of the glen. Still fabulous. Lunch there. On to Oban where we toured a small whiskey distillery... which I could have skipped ( but must admit that the wee dram of drambuie that Robert our guide poured out for us at the top of that ski lift was rather nice!!:-). And a warm up. ). Like this town on the Atlantic. Great fish and chips for dinner... and ice cream... love being near. Love seeing the Sea from our B and B window!
