Leichhardt Falls ...

... on the way from Adele Grove to Normanton, where we're in a cabin for the night. A nice change not to have to put my tent up!
We travelled via Burketown, where we had Roadkill pies for lunch! I'm not joking! Mine was barramundi, and M's was Wild Duck. I wasn't brave enough to try the crocodile or emu versions.
It took us the best part of the day to get here. There are stormy looking clouds brewing on the horizon and the weather gods are muttering rain. I think we've finished with unsealed roads for the next day or two so the rains shouldn't affect our routes. We wouldn't be able to travel our roads today if we'd struck rain any earlier.
Sorry M! I managed a photo of a white fronted ibis today but can't manage the cropping :(
Lots of birds today! Quite exciting. Many black kites, bustards, Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, Wedge-tailed eagles, and a wonderful sea eagle. Lots of 'roos too.
The falls here mark the demarcation between fresh and salt water, so estuarine crocodiles in this water. The river isn't flowing yet, and it was bakingly hot, so we didn't camp.
We'll go on to Karumba tomorrow. Only 70 more kms and sealed road.
