Kicky

My Dear Princess Normal & Fellows,

Yesterday was a lovely day, topped off by a delightful chat with the Princess. It is good to know that, even 11 thousand miles away, you are still able to engage me in intellectual chat about hiding jobbies in the fridge, Princess.

I sniggered myself to sleep. And double-checked the margarine tub this morning in case Er Indoors got any ideas.

I had been told not to expect good weather to endure in Wellington. I guess it is the winds, but the weather does seem to turn on a sixpence here. The sun can disappear at any time, but on the flip side torrential rain doesn't hang about like a smelly friend either.

However, I woke up today to find another beautiful morning outside. It was too lovely to waste it so I took myself for a long walk. I had to go back to Harvey Norman anyway to pick up some toner that Er Indoors had ordered for her printer. She was swearing at it as I left. Lacking paid IT support in her home office, it's the only recourse she has.

"You effing see of a thing why won't you SCAN?!???"

I made my excuses and left. No good was going to come of this.

I went out of my way again and found myself at Civic Square, which accounts for today's pictures. It was lovely over there, and full of office workers enjoying their break. I would be quite happy working around there. But then again I used to work at the Gyle. After THAT I would be happy working in downtown Scunthorpe. In a public toilet.

I got home and the printer issues had been resolved. Er Indoors thought she would be okay watching telly and working so we watched "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" which I haven't seen in about thirty years.

It was REALLY good! I had forgotten how much I enjoyed that show.

Sooner or later I'm going to have to go back to work myself and this lovely little soujorn will be over. Recruiters are making encouraging noises, although nothing has come of it yet. But there's no rush. I'm enjoying getting to grips with Wellington, and now I'm feeling a bit more confident about things.

In fact I think, on my first day back at work, I will stride into town in a "kicky" little outfit and THROW my hat in the air.

All together now - you're gonna make it after aaaaa-lllll...

S.
