Last Sunset from Rhodes
..... after a long day exploring the variety of landscapes and settlements in the south of the island. In the ancient town of Lindos we were, "gob-smacked" by the flow of tourists at this time of the year, I couldn't even get through the narrow main street for donkeys! We had a lovely meeting with a handsome golden goat (extra) and his harem, having climbed the cliffs above the town. Lachania, where one of our friends has a beautiful house, was delightful, a real working village. Driving down to the extreme southern tip of the island we went through a large area occupied by the army and had such a surprise, popping out on the twin surfing beaches of Prassonissi. Returning up the west coast, the turquoise colour of the sea was intense. We tried to drive to the highest point of the Island, Mount Attavyros, 1,215m, but the track defied our hire car! Now back in Theologos with the sound of the waves from the appartement, quite tired! I wonder why....
