an ode to breast cancer awareness month - where the challenge is to post something pink - everyday during the entire month of october - i don't think this should be too difficult for me considering my - love of all things pink

however the greater emphasis of course - is the fact of how this challenge brings - a focus to breast cancer, its impact on everyone - for it can reach it's ugly fingers into both women's and men's lives - it doesn't discriminate at all - as well as the importance of getting mammograms on a regular basis - regardless of how uncomfortable they might be

my family has been impacted by this disease - up close and personal, and it's not pretty - fortunately for us, we experienced survival and there has not been a reoccurrence - we are grateful for this - without the benefit of cancer research, mammograms, fundraising and promoting pink - strides wouldn't be made to stop this horrific disease - everyone can play a part no matter how small so we can see - an eventual end and experience...
