Wild Service
A rather splendid Wild Service tree on the boundary of Ingoldsby Wood, its distinctive shape hinting at its past management, possibly forming part of an ancient boundary hedge.
The wood itself is a working forest, but provides a habitat for many rare species and performs a range of wild services - a space to walk and relax, a source of timber, interception of heavy rain and provision of oxygen to name but a few.
