Standing with Catalonia

Dreadful scenes from Barcelona and Girona this morning as riot police attempt to stop people from voting in the independence referendum organised by the Catalonian government.
When Martin and I were in Girona weeks ago, we witnessed first hand the passion that Catalonian have for self determination within Europe. "Sí" flags hung out of windows and in balconies side by side with the European Union flag, people wearing clothing with the logo and shops full of "sí" goods. I even had a chat with one activist manning a stall, who was very aware of the situation in Scotland.
Today from afar, I stand with the people of Catalonia.
