A great find!
Some wee negative thoughts about skipping my gym session passed through my mind this morning, but were summarily dismissed.
Archie and I sat out in the sun, with the three painters working next door chattering away on the other side of the hedge. The new, tolerant, Archie said not a word. Good boy.
He was a good boy on the bus too. It was quite crowded and quite a long way (for a wee dog) lots of it over cobbles, which can’t be very comfy if you're lying on the bus floor.
We went for a dander in Stockbridge, with, perchance, something tasty to nibble and/or drink. Of course, being a Saturday lunchtime, every place was mobbed. But we located the wee wine bar we'd read about and were seeking. And it was well worth the search.
It wasn’t busy at all, being off the main drag. Dogs welcome too. So far so good. In fact, it was all good. Interesting menu of tasting/sharing plates, huge wine list, and - wait for it - an excellent sound system, and great music. NO screechy female vocals or twanging guitars.
Friendly service, even offering taster glasses of wines. The owner came to chat too. We discovered the joys of burrata cheese, served with roasted figs and evoo (extra virgin olive oil, of course).
Archie let out a couple of 'yips' on the bus on the way home, and no wonder. It was very busy, and he had so many feet and legs right by his wee face, I was afraid he was going to get stepped on...
JR was tempted to stay in town a bit longer, but Archie and I came home and went up the hill. It was a beautiful evening. You wouldn’t think there had been torrential rain half an hour before this. Look at my shadow beside Archie. It's a mile long!
