A slice of Lesley's life

Blue skies

Back blipping this from the luxury of Sunday night I can confirm that the whole weekend was blue skied and rather lovely. And for once I don't mind the ad breaks in Downton Abbey as they are letting me backblip without having to stay up too late. It has been a full on weekend and I need an early night before the new week starts.

But did I know that on Saturday? No, not really, well sort of not as I told myself (and Carl) that I would definitely get the taxi back from the house party we went to for our friend, Orna's birthday with him to be home to relieve the babysitter at midnight. And at the time I even believed myself. Though of course it didn't happen and I stayed on and chatted and drank and learned new card tricks until he small hours.

Reporting the day backwards... prior to that Carl and I had spent a laborious but worthy few hours doing some sorting and two tip runs whilst the kids were at birthday parties. We were well fuelled for our labours by possibly the last barbecue of the year at lunchtime. Or refuelled from the Saturday morning routine of dance classes and football training for the kids and ferrying them around for us. For me the waiting time whilst Anna is at dancing is now study time as I try to read and assimilate all the papers needed for my new job which starts next week. It's overwhelming and exciting in equal measure.

And then I got up!
