Latest Acquisition

Somehow I've realised I have a collection of maps of Australia.
They're made from glass, wood and various other materials.
But my favourites are from shells.

I entered a local shop and immediately spotted this beauty.
I'd say it was a school craft project and I reckon whoever made it got top marks.

Of course, none of my maps has Tasmania.
Tasmania simply doesn't exist in the world of kitsch.
Well, not as a state of Australia.

I'd popped it on this table prior to hanging and thought it looked rather lovely under the lamp.

Have added an extra of another fave,which was probably found in a Cairns fish and chip shop in the 60s.
