Duke

Duke is one of the Clydesdale horses based in Pollok Park, and is the longest serving member of Glasgow's famous Clydesdale Heavy Horse Show Team. Thirteen years old and standing 17.3 hands high (just under 6 feet), he's known locally as "Gentle Duke" due to his steady, reliable nature. He's won many awards, including five at the Royal Highland Show for the Market Cart class.

He was in the stables late this afternoon, sticking his nose over the doorway, and enjoying all the visitor attention.
