Astors

We had a really long day today! Tom's lab draw was scheduled for 9, but they were behind so he wasn't drawn until about 9:20. That was followed by an appointment at 9:45 with the nurse practitioner, but since his labs were late being drawn, the results weren't ready at 9:45, so we had to wait until after 10 before they got the results & could see the nurse. His blood count had dropped so they decided to give him another unit of blood, but they couldn't fit him in to do that until 1300. We ended up leaving the hospital and going to a nearby restaurant for lunch, then drove around for awhile to waste some more time. Fortunately on our drive I spotted these astors in an open field along the Root River Parkway so pulled over, got out and & took a few pictures before returning to the hospital. (Finally remembered to bring the camera along!) He got his unit of blood, but they were having problems with his IV, so it ended up taking a good 3 hours. We didn't get home until after 4:30 and I still had to make a cheesecake as a desert for our church's spaghetti dinner tomorrow--all done now and in the 'fridge.
