Got stand-by tickets (£16) for "The Best Man" starring Martin Shaw. Written by Gore Vidal in 1960, it is about USA presidential nomination elections. It has had good reviews, but I'm a bit lukewarm about it.  We were up in the 2nd circle so the sound didn't carry too well and it was a bit slow to get going.  I'm not a huge Martin Shaw fan, as John is, but to me he seemed to be playing the same part as he always does, eg Judge John Deed!
