The Railway Children
Today the number of walkers was depleted:
2 went home early full of cold; 2 went home to pack for Oz; 2 went home because 1 had plantar fasciitis,
11 did the easier shorter walk and ended up scrambling over rocks beyond Mallyan Spout.
That left 19 on the long walk (Goathland to Grosmont and a loop back again):
1 slipped and hurt her knee so 2 went home,
1 had sore feet so took a train from Grosmont
4 were tired so took the short cut back to Goathland and then there were 12
12 happy walkers enjoying the views, 2 stopped at Little Beck to try the steam train
10 happy walkers climbing up the stairs; all made it back - just before the rain came
I was too tired to try to make a poem out of all of this. We had a great weekend with a few casualties. My friend J provided and led all the walks despite a streaming cold.
Here are 3 of our group enjoying looking for the steam train and advertising our Walking Festival.
