Soaring

A visit to Strasbourg today, a town where I worked briefly before heading to the US, and which I always rediscover with pleasure.

The cathedral, which celebrated its millennial two years ago is an amazing piece of gothic architecture, in pink sandstone that changes color according to the time of the day. There are so many jewels in that building, from its lace-like sculptures outside to the mechanical moving clock inside, to the amazing stained glass. It was great strolling past it.

We caught a nice lunch at a new restaurant owned by the daughter of my childhood best friend - 50 some years of friendship, even across an ocean :)
