Here Be Dragons

We took advantage of the beautiful weather today and went out for a drive and a walk - the same route we did a few weeks ago and this time I got a little bit further 1.3 miles. There weren't many birds around - mainly Meadow Pipits, and I got only the briefest sighting of a Water Vole. I was just beginning to think another landscape blip, when we came across some dragonflies. This one was kind enough to pose on the stalk of a dead foxglove. I think it's a Southern Hawker but I'd be more than happy to be corrected.
